After years of speculation and anticipation, a highly anticipated sequel to the iconic 2006 film "The Devil Wears Prada" is finally in development. The sequel, which is currently in the early stages of production, is reportedly being written by Aline Brosh McKenna, who also penned the screenplay for the original film.
While plot details are scarce at this time, it has been confirmed that Meryl Streep will reprise her iconic role as Miranda Priestly, the demanding and exacting editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. Emily Blunt, who played the ambitious assistant Andy Sachs in the original film, is also expected to return. Additional cast members have yet to be announced.
The sequel will be produced by Fox 2000 Pictures, the same studio behind the original film. No release date has been set, but the film is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2024 or 2025.
The original "The Devil Wears Prada" was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $326 million worldwide. The film received numerous accolades, including two Academy Award nominations for Streep and Blunt. Its sequel is sure to generate significant excitement among fans of the original film.
