Argentine Copa de la Liga Profesional to Start on August 20
Only One Team to Be Relegated by Average
The Argentine Copa de la Liga Profesional will start on the weekend of August 20, with the playoffs scheduled for the weekends of December 3 and 10, the AFA announced on Thursday.
The season will feature a single relegation team based on the average points per game over the past three seasons, with the bottom team going down to the Primera Nacional.
The format of the tournament will be the same as in recent years, with 28 teams divided into two zones of 14. The top four teams from each zone will advance to the playoffs, with the winners of the semifinals meeting in the final.
