Bavarian dominance continues with another emphatic victory

Harry Kane continued his impressive start to life at Bayern Munich with a historic hat-trick as the Bavarians hammered Mainz 8-1 at home on Saturday.

The England captain, who joined the Bundesliga champions on a four-year deal from Tottenham in the summer, has now scored 35 of his 42 goals in the German top flight.

Kane opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a clinical finish from inside the box, before doubling his tally just four minutes later with a towering header.

The 28-year-old completed his hat-trick in the 35th minute with a stunning free-kick from 25 yards out.

Bayern's dominance continued after the break, with Leroy Sane adding a fourth in the 50th minute, before Jamal Musiala made it 5-0 just two minutes later.

Sadio Mane scored Bayern's sixth in the 64th minute, before Alphonso Davies added a seventh in the 79th minute.

Mainz pulled a goal back through Karim Onisiwo in the 86th minute, but it was Kane who had the final say, scoring his fourth of the game in stoppage time.

The victory sees Bayern move four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table, while Mainz remain in 12th place.
